I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. John 17:23
The Mississippi River Ministry is a Southern Baptist ministry that focuses on helping feed and clothe children and families throughout the region. This ministry is a partnership of the area's eight state conventions, which include Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, and Tennessee. It provides ministries, evangelism, and strives to start new churches in 220 counties and parishes of the MRM region (third world country along the Mississippi River). It also tries to get the community involved and strengthen the existence of new churches.
Thousands of backpacks are provided each year from the eight state convention's WMU organizations and churches for children and teens in need. The backpacks are filled with a variety of items such as: hygiene/toiletry items, toys, clothing, flashlights/batteries, candy, food with pull top lids, Bibles, and a copy of the Christmas story. These backpacks will be the only Christmas many of the children will receive and the only food they will have during the holidays.
Global Maritime Ministries exists to provide Christian ministry by meeting the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of seafarers and maritime workers.
Located in the heart of Louisiana, Louisiana Christian University's picturesque 81-acre Pineville campus features a mix of historic buildings and modern athletic, performance, classroom, and living facilities. Each summer, a team of NCBA volunteers will travel to Louisiana Christian University in Pineville, Louisiana, for a week of mission work. During this time, the volunteers clean, handle lawn maintenance, paint classrooms or hallways, paint parking lots, and make repairs in different areas of the campus. Whatever the need is, the team is willing to serve in that manner. The university supplies all the tools, equipment and supplies. The college houses the volunteers and provides three meals a day. The cost is minimal, but the reward is great!
